If you want proof that graphic novels can be about anything, behold “Logicomix: An Epic Search for Truth,” which chronicles the philosopher Bertrand Russell’s journey to establish the logical foundations of mathematics. The book is No. 1 on our softcover list this week; it was reviewed by Jim Holt in The New York Times Book Review on Sept. 25 and was an Editor’s Choice on Oct. 4.

The official Web site for the book, logicomix.com, includes a preview and a video interview with its writers Apostolos Doxiadis and Christos H. Papadimitriou, illustrator Alecos Papadatos and colorist Annie Di Donna about their work.
